ABOUT ME

Maia Bellavia, LCSW
Psychotherapist and Coach

Picture

Maia Bellavia, LCSW, a psychotherapist in private practice. I work with adults and couples who are seeking deeper self-understanding, more fulfilling relationships, and greater emotional and intimate connection—with themselves and with others.

I believe therapy is most meaningful when it feels relational, collaborative, and compassionate.

In our work together, I offer a space where you can slow down, explore patterns that no longer serve you, and speak honestly about your inner world—without judgment or pressure to “fix” yourself.

A central focus of my work is relationship and intimacy therapy. Many clients come to therapy wanting to better understand how they connect, protect themselves, love, and desire. I support individuals and couples navigating communication challenges, emotional distance, attachment wounds, desire discrepancies, identity exploration, and transitions in relationships. Together, we look at how past experiences shape present-day intimacy and create room for more authentic, connected ways of relating.

I am LGBTQ+ affirming and hold a particular commitment to working with queer individuals and relationships. As part of the community myself, this lived experience meaningfully informs my work as a therapist. I understand—both personally and professionally—the nuances of identity, visibility, belonging, and intimacy that many queer people and relationships navigate. In therapy, I offer a space where clients do not need to explain or justify who they are, how they love, or how they define their relationships.

My work with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples is affirming, relational, and culturally attuned. I hold deep respect for the complexity of sexuality, gender, and desire, and for the ways social, familial, and systemic forces shape our emotional and relational lives. Therapy can be a place to explore these experiences with honesty, safety, and care—while supporting greater authenticity, connection, and self-trust.

My approach is thoughtful, attuned, and body-aware. I view therapy as an invitation—to deepen self-trust, cultivate emotional presence, and build relationships rooted in honesty, agency, and connection, at a pace that feels right for you.
